Spring around the corner??
Last night the weather man from Ottawa said that "Spring is around the corner". He didn't say what corner as the morning temps has been from 0 to 20 each morning. Granted it rises from 24 to 32 by afternoon. That is Farenheight , probably the wrong spelling but my dictionary was probaably published before the word was even invented, to you Celcuis people. At this age I have decided there are more important things to remember than to figure out temperature. I look at the thermometer each morning and know how many clothes to put on. At least we have had beauty sunshine for the past week and no snow for a week now. We did have a load of it come down then but it is starting to melt. Good for the water table the farm fields and to wash the sand and grunge off the roads. You fortunate souls who bask in the Florida , Mexico , and Island sunshine probably are snickering and saying "This is the life. A lot of people do like the snow and winter weather and take their holidays at that time so as to ski, snowboard, skate and all kinds of those goodies. See what you miss by sitting in the sun?
Yesterday we were couch potatoes as the womens curling was on and it was exciting, that is you like curling and women doing the game. The men curlers did themselves proud at the Olympics but this is a ' Tounament of Hearts' that raises money for babies in crisis and probably other things. I usually have to get another coffee or other such necessary things during the ads so am not up on what they are promoting . Today is the final so will watch that if the station doesn't go off like it did yesterday.for a spell.
Have been to the pool each day this past week and the water was sooo nice. That early swim does tend to be a wake up call for the old bod and be ready for what ever the day may throw at one. We went to church this morning and with curling this aft and will soon be off to the Legion for dinner. I don't want to wreck the day by having to figure out what to get for supper especially on a Sunday. Isn't sunday suppossed to be a day of rest. Whoever said that wasn't thinking about the cook. Any of you guys out there are you taking your other delightful half out for a change? If not why not? Get off your aspects and treat her.
We had our usual game of cards this week and the men were a little too much for us this time. One of the couples will be going on holidays next week to Portugal for 3 weeks so there will be just the 2 couples and a different game. When you are retired you have to plan a to take a holiday or you don't go anywhere much. Staying home all the time may be less stressful than when you went to work but looking at another four walls relieves the monotony.
Time to go for dinner and we are meeting 3 other couples there at 5 so bon appetit for us, that is. Chicken and biscuits is on the menu.
